It was decided to build this enterprise in the Kamenka industrial zone, which is located near the city of St. Petersburg. The construction of the plant itself began in 2007, the volume of investments in the enterprise reached $200,000,000. About 750 people work at the LLC Nissan Motor RUS enterprise.
In 2009, a test assembly of cars was started at the new plant, and soon the grand opening of this enterprise took place, with a production capacity of up to 50,000 cars per year. At the beginning of production, the plant produced two brands of cars - Nissan Teana and Nissan X-Trail. In 2012, the production of the Nissan Murano model was opened. In 2012, a test production was also launched, and then mass production of a new Nissan Almera car at the AvtoVAZ plant located in Togliatti.
